1906  model year.

4 cylinder 50hp engine, 118" wheelbase.

No factory publication or advertising has been found that mentions a runabout in the 1906 line.
However, this car was announced in industry publications in May of 1906.
It has lipped and angled front fenders, beautiful long rear fenders,
and a boattail deck with a folding rumble seat and fitted luggage.

There are no missing model numbers in the series from 1905 through 1907.
Since Model 31 is always a touring car in period material,
I made up the "31a" model designation as a placeholder.

Horseless Age, May 3, 1906

Motor World, Jun. 7, 1906

This car may not be a factory Model 31 roadster.
It has a well-made body, and has the long front fenders and circular rears of later roadsters,
but it has the short-necked radiator of the early Model 31's.
